Our Team

Youth Leadership

  • Kevin Wang - Coordinator

Kevin is a regular at St Sophia and a recent convert, being baptised early 2023. Kevin has helped organise and run COTY events since the very beginning, and looks forward to having more responsibility in serving his peers. In particular, he's excited to facilitate discussion on the deeper aspects of faith, and to help people live that faith in the world. Kevin is a student and fan of the Symbolic World, and is always excited to meet others that can speak his language. For work, he runs a software business. In his free time, he'll try to read or watch something edifying. If that fails, he likes to play games.

  • Aristotle Vainikos - Coordinator

Aristotle is a master’s student at Oxford and previously studied at King’s College London. Before St. Sophia in London, Aristotle has been a member of Greek Orthodox parishes in Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC. Aristotle led Orthodox Christian Fellowship initiatives as a college student and was a long-time altar server at his home parish near Chicago. He’s excited to launch fellowship events that connect youth in all corners of the Archdiocese. As a student of international relations and tech innovation, he’s especially looking forward to this year’s theme of faith in modern life. Outside of COTY, catch Aristotle watching American baseball or underperforming at a pub quiz.

  • Aaron Kwakye - Media Lead

Aaron’s journey to Orthodoxy began much like many young people today: online. He believes that captivating videos can become windows into the heart of our faith, offering glimpses of joy, meaning, and connection that resonate with a generation raised on screens. His vision isn't just about creating compelling content, but about using it as a bridge – a bridge that invites viewers to step across the threshold and experience the depth, authenticity, and warmth of our church community in person. He dreams of crafting videos that spark curiosity, ignite questions, and inspire young people to seek out the source of the light they see shining through the screen.

Regional Coordinators

  • Theo Andreou (West Midlands)

Theo studied Theology at Durham University and now teaches Patristics and Church history at the Thyateira Midlands Ecclesiastical Seminary. He is passionate about helping the next generation of Orthodox Christians to enter more deeply into the treasury of their own Tradition, and believes that COTY provides a unique space for young people to grow in their faith and unity with one another. Theo is excited about bringing more events to the Midlands and looks forward to seeing as many people there as possible. His hope is that, over time, the youth of the Archdiocese become more connected as the Body of Christ. When he’s not theologising, Theo loves spending time with friends and eating good food.

  • Mark Fisher (West Midlands)

Mark recently moved to the UK all the way from New Zealand in order to enter into an apprenticeship under the master iconographer, Aidan Hart. It was through iconography and the beauty of the Orthodox vision of reality that Mark was initially drawn towards the church, out of the secular contemporary art world, eventually leading to his baptism and chrismation at the monastery of the Holy Archangels in Levin, NZ in 2023. Upon moving to the UK, he was greatly excited to see the amount of young people active in the church, and  the events that were being put on to help them socialise and build bonds. He wants to help extend the work of COTY in this regard out into the midlands, where he resides.
